Nonergodicity in DRADA deuteron glass

چکیده
A field-heating (FH), field-cooling (FC), zero-field heating (ZFH) sequence was used to study nonergodic polarization response to dc electric field in x4.28 Rb,-,(ND4),D2As04 (DRADA) deuteron glass. Polarization change in the low-temperature nonergodic region varied with temperature T nearly as Ty, where 5SyS6. This result is compared with predictions of the bound charge semiconductor model for proton glass.

Anomaly of the nonergodicity parameter and crossover to white noise in the fast relaxation spectrum of a simple glass former.
We present quasielastic light scattering and dielectric spectra of the glass former alpha-picoline. At high temperatures the evolution of the susceptibility minimum is well described by the mode coupling theory (MCT). Below the critical temperature T(c) the simple scaling laws of MCT fail due to the appearance of the excess wing of the alpha process, which shows a universal evolution as a funct...
متن کاملBZT: A Soft Pseudospin Glass.
In an attempt to understand the origin of relaxor ferroelectricity, it is shown that interesting behavior of the onset of nonergodicity and of precursor nanodomains, found in first-principles simulations of the relaxor alloy Ba(Zr(1-x)Ti(x))O(3), can easily be understood within a simple mapping to a soft pseudospin glass.
متن کاملNonergodic states of charged colloidal suspensions: repulsive and attractive glasses and gels.
Two types of isotropic disordered nonergodic states exist in colloidal suspensions: glasses and gels. The difference between the two is that the nonergodicity, or elasticity, of gel stems from the existence of a percolated network, while that of glass stems from caging effects. Despite this clear difference in the origin of nonergodicity, it is not straightforward to distinguish the two states ...
متن کاملNonergodicity transitions in colloidal suspensions with attractive interactions.
Colloidal gel and glass transitions are investigated using the idealized mode coupling theory (MCT) for model systems characterized by short-range attractive interactions. Results are presented for adhesive hard sphere and hard core attractive Yukawa systems. According to MCT, the former system shows a critical glass transition concentration that increases significantly with introduction of a w...
متن کاملDynamics of Deuteron Glasses as Probed by 2 D Exchange NMR *
The deuteron intra-bond dynamics of the deuteron glass phase in Rb0 68(N D 4)0 32D 2A s 0 4 has been studied by 2 D exchange NM R which extends the NM R observation window from the kHz region into the milli-Hertz region. The results show that the O D • • • O deuterons are indeed the basic reversible two-position dipoles in the structure and that deuteron intra-bond exchange and thus dipole reve...
